La storia del cuore degli amanti di pietra ha origine in un piccolo paese della Svizzera settentrionale. Una statua costruita da uno scultore sconosciuto ad un angolo di una delle colonne del ponte Aar, rappresentava due amanti intenti a baciarsi. L'uomo era per metà inglobato nella struttura della colonna stessa, mentre la donna lo abbracciava e baciava, come a volerlo salvare da quella fusione con il cemento e la pietra. Nel 1995 il ponte fu ristrutturato e gli ingegneri decisero che quella statua doveva essere tolta ma, data la fusione con la colonna stessa, l'operazione si dimostrò più difficoltosa del previsto. La statua della donna infatti fu irrimediabilmente danneggiata e con essa parti delle braccia dell'uomo. Rimaneva solamente un busto ed una testa sporgente, intenta a baciare l'aria in una posa tristemente grottesca. Misteriosamente l'indomani, la colonna con quello che rimaneva della statua crollò. Dal busto dell'uomo si staccò un frammento di pietra dalla inequivocabile forma di un cuore. Forse la stretta d'amore dei misteriosi amanti era la chiave di volta della colonna stessa....o forse il misterioso scultore della statua non era un "semplice artista". Il frammento della statua è stato conservato per anni nel museo di storia naturale di Berna. Dal 2015 può essere visto presso il museo dell' impossibile a Bagni di Lucca.

History of "lovers heart of stone" originates in a small town in northern Switzerland. The man was half embedded in the structure of the column, while the woman hugged and kissed him, as to want to save from the merger with the cement and stone. The statue of the woman in fact was irreparably damaged and with it parts of the man's arms. There Remained only a torso and a head protruding, intent on kissing the air in a pose sadly grotesque. Mysteriously the next day, the column with what was left of the statue collapsed. From bust as he broke away a piece of stone from the unmistakable shape of a heart. Perhaps the close love of the mysterious lover was the keystone of the column .... or perhaps the mysterious sculptor of the statues was not a "simple artist." The fragment of the statue Has Been kept for years in the Natural History Museum of Berne. From 2015 it can be seen at the >Impossible Museum in Bagni di Lucca.
